It certainly isn’t love at first sight when Clara and James meet at the hotel. She thinks he’s a work-obsessed snob, and worse, bitter about romance. He thinks her head is in the clouds. Clara couldn’t imagine anyone being less romantic. But when Clara’s mother tries to set her up with Lucian Gamington–a snob to the highest degree and well-known womanizer–Clara finds herself joining forces with James Bretton. They mutually agree that pretending to be a couple for the wedding is better than showing up alone.
